My Go-To Resource for Custom Holiday Cards

This weekend I’m decorating our house for the holidays… the mood has finally struck. I’m feeling behind after being away last week, but I’m thanking myself for knocking our Christmas cards off the list early this year! Consider this your annual reminder to get your holiday cards ordered, if those are something you enjoy sending every season. It’s a tradition I very much look forward to! Living far away from the majority of our friends & family, it’s a fun way to keep in touch and let loved ones know we’re thinking of them. Click through for a peek at ours this year, along with my top classic photo card picks from Minted- and I’ve got a 20% off code for you, too! It applies to gift wrap and tags, as well.

I’ve been a Minted partner for five years, so my cards were gifted. Thank you supporting the brands I love and enjoy working with year after year!

We’ve been ordering our cards from Minted for well over a decade- long before I began partnering with them, and they really do have the best selection. This year, I even added some fun accessories to make the job easier. Whip up a batch of my Nan’s beloved classic butter sugar cookies, pour yourself a cup of coffee, pull out your holiday decorations, and get those cards ordered friends! I’ve got some tips for you…

A Fun Holiday Tradition

Addressing Holiday Cards on Sage Green Envelopes

Emmett and I have been saving & sending holiday cards since we were married. It’s one of my favorite holiday traditions. Cards are such a lovely way to keep in touch and are fun to look back upon. I keep all of our old cards in a box, and I flip through them every holiday. Do you send holiday cards each year?

My Favorite Classic Cards from Minted & A Promo Code

Classic Holiday Cards from Minted

This year, I opted for a simple overlap design because I liked the simplicity alongside our busy fall foliage photo, but here are some other favorite photo card options I saved. Use my code TUESDAYHOLIDAY20 for 20% off Minted stationery and gifts, plus free shipping. Valid through 12/31/2025.

You know me- I prefer the traditional and classic options. You can customize the text, imagery, the color, envelopes, and even the finish of each card. I like that about Minted… they’re easy to make your own with customization. We usually choose or plan our photo first, then I select a cohesive card design once we have the image…

Choosing a Photo

2025 Gibsons Room for Tuesday Holiday Card Portrait

We always take our own holiday card photos (with a tripod and self timer)… it makes it fun and memorable! You may recognize this year’s photo from our Polywood adirondack chair post. This one turned out too good not to use. We wanted to take a photo at the cabin, but this was much easier and second best.

My advice for holiday photos? Don’t overcomplicate it. We propped up my phone, set the self timer, and tossed a treat in that direction to get the dogs to look, ha. Kudos if you schedule a professional family photo session, but believe me when I say- it’s not necessary. Scroll your albums and travels from the past year for any of your favorites, or take a spontaneous picture, like we did. Selfies even work! It’s part of the fun.

Creative Holiday Card Extras

This year, I also added some extras to my cart… gift wrap and tags were an easy addition (my 20% off code works for all of it)! They have all sorts of options… even stamps!

FAQ

Can you link your return address stamp?

Happy to! We have this one… a simple three-line option. It’s a timeless and easy pick if you don’t want to bother with ink pads.

How many cards do you typically mail out?

We typically mail anywhere from 70-100 cards each holiday season… which seems like a feasible, yet not overwhelming amount.
