When I upgraded my laptop, I ended up with a 256GB NVMe SSD that I had no immediate use for. So it sat in a drawer for a while. Meanwhile, I kept buying USB flash drives for their practical uses or whenever I needed portable storage — even though I already owned a perfectly good SSD. The solution was to put that NVMe in an external enclosure and use it as a USB drive.
