“Sunburst” Door Recognized for Global Design Excellence and Innovation
Toronto, ON – Art Boulle is proud to announce that it has been awarded First Place in Canada and ranked Fourth Worldwide in the 2024 Best Pivot Door Contest, an internationally recognized competition celebrating the highest standards in architectural design, innovation, and craftsmanship.
This prestigious contest, hosted by FritsJurgens, the global leader in pivot hinge systems, brought together the most outstanding pivot door designs from around the world. The awards are judged by a panel composed of the previous year’s winners—architects, designers, and engineers—who evaluated submissions based on innovation, functionality, aesthetics, and technical execution. The 2024 edition attracted hundreds of entries across three main categories: Best Exterior Pivot Door, Best Interior Pivot Door, and Best Specialty Application.

Crafted from solid mahogany and featuring custom-cast metal inlays, the Sunburst door draws inspiration from classical sunburst motifs prominent in European architecture. Its radiant design represents the dynamic interplay between sunlight and shadow within the home, enhanced by strategic use of glass and symmetry throughout the residence. The door’s handcrafted detailing and seamless integration of materials exemplify Art Boulle’s dedication to blending art with function.
