Spotted by Julie and promptly admired by all of us: the Oprheu collection of eight wool rugs by Lisbon-based designers Garcé Dimofski for Beni Rugs. Rich in texture and color, the collection is inspired by the work of Portuguese poet and writer Fernando Pessoa, “a poet whose greatest desire was to feel everything in every way,” and named for the short-lived literary magazine he founded in 1915.

Above: The Echo Rug, in blue and cream, is inspired by the way that “memory cracks apart as time carries on.” Like many of the rugs in the collection, its combination of knotted and flatwoven wool “calls for the hands of our master weavers,” according to Beni Rugs. Like each of the designs, it starts at $915 for an area rug and is also available from The Invisible Collection.

Above: A personal favorite, the Ondine Rug evokes “the salty melody whispered inside a seashell…the curving linework of Henri Matisse, and the little wave-like borders that often decorate coastal azulejos in Portugal.” It’s also a good way to add a dose of red to any room.
