Learning REDUCE in Excel completely changed how I use spreadsheets

For years, I solved complex spreadsheet problems the same way: adding helper columns, stacking increasingly nested formulas, and, when things became especially tangled, resorting to Excel’s VBA macros. This process worked fine for me until I discovered the REDUCE function.
