As we close out the year, I wanted to share my usual roundup or list of the pieces from my home you loved most this year! These are the ones you asked about, saved, and bought for your own homes. Nothing feels trendy, all have my designer stamp of approval, and we’ve enjoyed them for at least a year here at home. These all made the 2025 list of the best selling home favorites because they live well, layer easily, and hold up over time. Some are worthy investments, some are budget friendly impulse purchase, but every one earned its place for good reason. Click through to see what made the top 10 this year!
1. Our Comfy Sofa Sectional That Reclines
Hands down one of the most asked about pieces from my home this year has been our Homebody reclining sectional. We went with the U-shaped version in our basement media room, and over a year later- we’re still loving it. This sofa feels like the perfect marriage of comfort and style… it’s soft enough to sink into on movie nights but structured enough that it doesn’t look too sloppy. The customization options let you tailor scale, fabric, and depth to exactly fit your room. If you also have a significant other who demands a recliner, but you hate the look… this is a good compromise. Whether you have a big family, love hosting, or just want a sofa that actually gets used (and loved), this one delivers.
2. The Neutral Area Rug I Use Everywhere
You all know I swear by classic woven area rugs, and the Florence Sisal Rug from my shop, Tuesday Made, has easily become my favorite foundation piece of the year. We used it as a stair runner (here’s how to install a stair runner) and also in my home office… it works beautifully in both. What I love most is how versatile it is. It can even be custom sized to fit odd shaped areas, and it’s super durable- perfect for homes with kids and dogs. It’s a well designed timeless option that is still practical, which is exactly why this one kept showing up in our orders and my DMs all year. 3. The Woven Roman Shades I Always Come Back To
If there’s one thing I know about window treatments, it’s that they can make or break a room, and the these budget friendly roman shades have honestly transformed window after window in our home. We’ve installed them in our formal living room, the basement media room, the home gym, and multiple bedrooms… they just work everywhere. They filter light beautifully while still giving you a bit of privacy. Plus, the natural woven texture adds warmth and dimension without feeling too heavy. They read relaxed, which makes them perfect for layering with tailored drapery panels. It’s no wonder they became one of the most popular items you all sourced and styled in your own homes this year. Check out 40 designer approved roman shades to fit any budget, if you’re in need of more options. This one definitely topped the list at number one though…
4. The Designer-Approved Ceiling Fan from Our Bedroom
Being completely honest? As a designer, I really dislike ceiling fans.. but in our primary bedroom, airflow is non negotiable. This is the updated version of our one and only ceiling fan in our house, and it is the least offensive option (that still works hard and provides light). The profile is clean, the blades feel modern, and the integrated light keeps it from looking bulky or dated. It blends into our ceiling instead of taking over the room, which is my biggest design concern when it comes to unsightly fans. If you’re torn between comfort and aesthetics, this is a solid compromise. I also shared more of my thought process in my designer approved ceiling fan guide, which walks through how to choose the best one without sacrificing your space.
5. My Long Loved Interior Door Hardware
One small detail that made a real impact in our home was swapping out our doors and hardware for something of better quality that fit our aesthetic. It’s a simple upgrade, but it elevates every vignette throughout our home. The tall backplate feels intentional, and the clean lines read modern yet timeless. We used this same handle set throughout every room in our home, and they hold up well with everyday use. I hear about these a LOT because good hardware is tough to find. This has actually been the best-selling item from my house the past three years! 6. Linen Sheets So Good, I Have Them in Three Colors
These Quince linen sheets are one of those things I never knew I needed until I tried them. I have them in multiple colors and swap sets seasonally. They are soft right out of the bag, and then they continue to get better with each wash. I honestly do not want to sleep on anything else. They feel relaxed, breathable, and lived in… the exact mood I want in a bedroom. Linen can be intimidating, but this set hits the sweet spot between elevated and effortless. If you want to see how I style and layer bedding for a luxe hotel-like texture and comfort, check out my Quince linen bedding review here, for more tips and inspiration.
7. The Classic and Durable Monogrammed Doormat On Our Porch
I keep coming back to this natural coir doormat because it’s the perfect balance of practical and pretty. It looks classic at the entry without being boring, and the texture is just right for wiping shoes without shredding. It has held up well to our snowy winters and hot summers. It’s one of those easy updates that instantly makes your home feel more welcoming before even stepping inside. If you’re thinking about switching out your mats by season, I shared more here… classic doormats designers love!
8. My Favorite Timeless Wall Sconces
This is my favorite fixture in the Tuesday Made shop! It’s definitely our most popular light fixture. We have these in a few different spots at home, and what I love most is how easy they are to update. I actually swap the shade seasonally to give each vignette a fresh look without changing the whole fixture. The shape feels classic but not too formal, and it layers beautifully with other light fixtures. If you also want to update your sconces, I shared how I choose and style clip-on shades for different moods. And for a deeper dive into creating a solid lighting plan throughout your home, check out my post on tips for layering lighting like a designer.
9. These Budget Friendly Pleated Curtains That Look High-End
These curtains in our home gym reveal fooled everyone… they’re not custom, and are probably the least expensive drapery panels in our entire home. They soften the room instantly and make the space feel finished. The fabric has a simple, tailored and pleated look that reads more custom than affordable. They hang beautifully with a little training! If you’re looking for curtains that look elevated without spending a fortune, I shared more of my favorites and how I style them in the best budget curtains that look custom.
10. Our Electric Fireplace That Looks Like a Custom Built-In
This is the electric fireplace we use in our basement media room, and it has been a surprising upgrade down there. It gives the room that cozy factor instantly, even when the heat is off. The flame looks surprisingly real, and I love that when it’s turned out, it produces a good amount of heat. It also comes with a remote, which feels like a small thing until you are already settled on the couch. If you’re trying to find an electric fireplace that does not look fake or flimsy, I shared exactly what to look for in this post: how to source and style the most realistic electric fireplace.
Questions?
Definitely switch plates! I swapped all of them this year and don’t know why I didn’t do that sooner. Check out this post for my designer tips for making outlets and light switch plates look better. That would make an incredible project for January, if you’ve yet to do so!
This is what we’re currently using in our main bath. Emmett and I both love these! I’m pretty much obsessed with anything that comes from Quince… I can’t believe the quality for the price.
Absolutely! It’s the best. Here is my honest review of the Big Chill classic range, if you’re interested at an in-depth look. On the contrary, I would never recommend the GE Cafe Range… what a mistake we made by purchasing that thing. Ha!
It is! This handle set also made the list, but for the sake of repetition, I decided to only include the interior option. This is our exterior set, which I LOVE… pictured below.
